PROGRAMME REVIEW

 

As per required under Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, a Safety and Health Committee shall be established and in full function where there are forty and above persons employed at a work-place. It is absolutely necessary for the management and the Safety and Health Committee to understand the related purposes, functions, approach and the legal obligations in order to ensure effective implementation of the Safety and Health Committee.

TARGET GROUP

 

All Safety and Health Committees, management staff, HR personnel, EMS Committee and key personnel who will be undertaking the task of developing and implementing the Occupational Safety and Health Management are encouraged to attend.

CONTENTS

 

·         Introduction to Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994

·         Introduction to Occupational Safety and Health (Safety and Health Committee) Regulations, 1996     

·         Identifying hazards and risks at work-place

·         Safety and Health Policy requirements

·         Functions of Safety and Health Committee

       - Reporting and investigating of accident & incident

       - Safety Inspection

       - Corrective action

       - Safety promotion 

·         Introduction to other related Regulations  

·         Site Safety & Health Inspection

LEARNING OUTCOME

 

At the end of this lesson, participants are expected to

 

§  Achieve a good understanding on OSH Act and at least one of the related Regulations

§  Be able to establish and execute the full functions of the Safety & Health Committee

§  Recognizing Occupational hazards and risk

§  Have a basic concept on the hazard & the associate risks at work-place
