2. PROGRAMME REVIEW
  Noise is one of the most common occupational hazards at work place and therefore workers need to be protected against this hazard. As per stipulated in Section [27] of the Factories and Machinery [Noise Exposure] Regulations 1989, employees that are exposed to noise level that are equal or higher than the action level need to be provided with a training on hearing conversation.                      
 
3. TARGET GROUP
  All Safety and Health Committees, management staff, and employees who are exposed to noise that is equal or above to action level.

2.   The Factories and Machinery [Noise Exposure] Regulations, 1989
3.   Typical examples of noise sources at workplace
4.   Noise and its effect to health
5.   Management of noise
6.   Purpose of audiometric test
7.   Hearing protector and its selection
8.   Advantages & disadvantages, fitting, maintenance and care of hearing protectors.          
 
5. LEARNING OUTCOME
  At the end of this lesson, participants are expected to have an essential understanding on the:- 
  • The provision of Factories and Machinery [ Noise Exposure] Regulation, 1989;
  • The Effects of noise on hearing;
  • The purpose of PPE, usage, advantages and disadvantages; and
  • The purpose of audiometric test
